AND THAT'S A WRAP 2026!

It's been an action packed year, and the FoGS Team are all looking forward to a little rest over the summer.  We targeted ourselves with a goal to raise £10,000 over this academic year (2025-2026) - we've done so well that we are STILL counting the pennies!  Make sure you look out for September's newsletter where we can give you an update, and let you know our plans for next year πŸ˜‰

Apart from the events we provided for the George Spicer Community this year:

  • Year group Discos

  • Quiz & Curry Night

  • The Winter Fair

  • Non-Uniform Days

  • Pre-Loved Uniform Sales

  • The FoGS Festival

  • Supporting at the new Reception stay and plays

We also facilitated a significant update to the Kimberley Gardens play equipment, and over the course of this summer holiday we are making another large investment to replace the sensory garden at the Sketty Road site.

Our most recent event was the FoGS Festival, and we hope everyone who attended really enjoyed the afternoon...  We tried to include all your favourites, and provided some new games, activities and entertainment for your enjoyment.  Plus we had the wonderful 'Kimberley Parade', which was enjoyed as much by the adults as the children 🀩

We think it was a success, but what do you think?  If you have 5 minutes to spare over the summer, would would be grateful for your feedback, input and any ideas you would like to contribute, which will enable us to shape the events for next year!

In case you missed it, here's a selection of images from the day!

A lot of preparation, organisation and effort goes into all our events behind the scenes, and we have a fabulous core team of just a handful of parents and teachers that make up the official FoGS committee (with the unofficial Foglet helpers of course!).  But the FoGS Festival was a real community effort - help from the teachers, parents, grandparents, children who were there early in the day setting up, managing stalls and activities throughout the event, and staying afterwards for the 'big tidy up!'...

YOU ALL ROCK and we couldn't do it without you! πŸ™Œ

Did you know?

  • FoGS is a registered charity
  • We are all unpaid volunteers
  • We are independent of the school
  • All profits go towards equipment / resources for the children of George Spicer

We'd love to increase our volunteer numbers next year - many hands make light work so they say!  You can invest as much or as little time as you like, and you don't need any special skills... just a willingness to be supportive and helpful!

If you are interested, or would like to discuss how you can be involved with FoGS, please speak to a member of the FoGS Team, or send us an email (we're a really friendly bunch! πŸ˜‰)
